Liz Funk-Supergirls Speak Out

Hep böyle kitaplar okumak istemişimdir. Kitapçılarda görürüm içim gider. İpek Ongun'un kitaplarının bir adım sonrası kitaplar vardır hani kadın dergisi okuyormuş gibi hissettirir. İşte o kitaplara hep kitapçılarda bakıp, asla para vermeyeceğim için bırakır giderim. Kütüphanede görünce biraz güvenim sarsıldı açıkçası kütüphaneye dair ama yine de bulmuşken alıp okuyayım dedim.

Yazarı Liz Funk, yanakları benden daha top top olan tek insan sanırım. Benden dört yaş küçükmüş. Bir sürü yerde yazıyor, konuşuyor olmasına hiç şaşırmadım. Çok klasik ondaki her şey.

Kitabın kapağında bir de böyle diyor: "Inside the Secret Crises of Overachieving Girls"
Kitapta önce bize bir "supergirl" tarifi yapıyor. Her daim güzel, bakımlı, toplum tarafından onaylanan, başarılı kızlar bunlar özetle. Bunda ne var diye düşünüyorsanız böyle olmak için ne kadar uğraştıklarına bakmanız gerekiyor. Uykusuzluk, yorgunluk ve bundan dolayı ilaç kullanmak gibi yöntemlere başvurabiliyorlar. Güzel, zayıf olmak için aç kalanlar, kusanlar bunları da kimse ile paylaşamıyorlar. Mükemmelliklerine halel gelmesinden korkuyorlar. Liz Funk da tombalak olması dışında bir tür "supergirl". Alıntıları gördükten sonra anlayacaksınız ki okumaya değecek bir kitap değil. Ben hepimizin yerine bunu yapmış, tatmış olayım.
